According to The Independent, Manchester United’s De Gea has hailed Madrid’s Isco as an incredible talent after Spain’s dominant win over Italy.
The world class goalkeeper was quick to praise his compatriot after they beat the Italians 3-0. A convincing win was a surprise to many but De Gea was not surprised about how well Isco, who was linked to Manchester United, played.

“Personally I have known Isco for a long time so it’s no surprise to me what he’s doing. I have seen him doing incredible things for so long now, people shouldn’t be surprised either. He’s been performing at a high level and doing incredible things on the pitch for some time.” said the former Atletico Madrid man.
De Gea continued enthusiastically, “He’s at the top level now and that’s great for the team. We hope he keeps improving. Bearing in mind his personality, he’ll become one of the greatest.”. Isco’s form has led to some fans comparing him to a Spanish legend in Iniesta with the pair’s playing styles quite similar.
While Iniesta has represented Barcelona his whole career, Isco has had to work his way up to represent Madrid consistently in their famous white shirt. In fact, the dazzling midfielder has performed so well for Zidane that there are reports that Bale may yet leave the Santiago Bernabeu after being forced to watch his teammate’s talent from the bench.
De Gea himself has been linked frequently to the Spanish capital and some may take his words of praise for his teammate as a hint of his desire to leave Manchester United. Perhaps the opposite will happen with Isco coming to Old Trafford instead after reports emerged of Mourinho’s interest.
Where the midfielder would fit in to an already congested side is yet to be seen, particularly since Jose was looking for a traditional winger and not a man behind the striker. There’s also no real reason for the Spaniard to leave his home country after finally cementing his side in the first team in a side truly capable of winning any trophy they wish.

Should Isco somehow end up a club teammate of De Gea’s it would interesting to see where he plays and who he’s dropped for. Talent is talent in the end of the day and it’s better to have more options than it is to have none. Perhaps a change in formation may be on the cards for Manchester United. Until then, fans will have to admire his talent from afar.
