Manchester United have found themselves at the top of the table heading into the first international break. This may be due to their fixture list thus far.

The Red Devils have taken 3 wins of a possible 3. They have won 4-0 against West Ham and Swansea City as well as a 2-0 win against Leicester City. United will face Stoke City when they come back from the international break.

Manchester United’s next four fixtures in the Premier League after Stoke City is Everton, Southampton, Crystal Palace, and Liverpool. While Everton and Liverpool may be tough tests for United, the Red Devils should take three points from the other fixtures.

This may help United build a sufficient lead at the top of the table and head into the big fixtures with a solid lead at the top of the table. Within these fixtures, United will have to play FC Basel and CSKA Moscow in the Champions League group stages. Also, United will face Burton Albion in the English Carabao Cup after the Everton game.

The Red Devils will have 7 games in the month of September and will hope their depth will keep them winning games in such a busy period. There are 7 teams in European action this month and United will hope that their depth will give them the edge over the other 6 teams.

The likes of Jesse Lingard, Michael Carrick, Ander Herrera, Chris Smalling, Victor Lindelof, and Matteo Darmian have not got much playing time thus far but the busy fixture list may introduce them to the squad. These players are experienced and will be quality replacements for the squad that has played thus far.
