More people had this season down as Phil Jones’ last with the club rather than the season he turns his United career around.

The England international has always been full of potential, but his inability to stay fit has left him seldom used.

However, the often clumsy and awkward center back has been a revelation in the back line so far this season.

Along with Eric Bailly, the two have formed the foundation of arguably the best defense in the Premier League.

United bought Victor Lindelof to partner next to Bailly, but if Jones continues to show he’s turned the corner, his spot in the team is seemingly assured.
