Marcus Rashford’s rise to the top has been — well — meteoric to say the least.

Since scoring a brace in his senior team debut against Midtjylland in the 2016 Europa League group stages, to helping carry United to the Europa League final this past season; he’s certainly earned his stripes — and he’s only 19-years old.

However, there was concern that Rashford might find himself isolated on the wing this season after the Red Devils won the signature of striker Romelu Lukaku for a cool £75m from Everton. But there was the same concern before last season with the arrival of Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

And Rashford continued to prove himself with each opportunity presented.

So far this preseason, Rashford has continued to make a case for being the primary striker despite the fortune spent on Lukaku.

Rashford has impressed Mourinho so much on the tour that The Special One has even hinted to deploying both strikers together in a 3-5-2 formation.

“We’ll also try them both in the same team, which I think can also work,” Mourinho said following the 5-2 victory over the LA Galaxy.

And with three games left, there’s still plenty of time for Rashford to solidify his place in the first team before August 8.
