Manchester United: Top 10 Assists in the 2016/17 Season

Manchester United had some beautiful assists this past season in their 2016-2017 season. This is even though the Red Devils scored just 54 goals in the Premier League.

Ander Herrera had the most assists on the season with 11. That is an impressive stat as he played most of the season as a defensive midfielder that would protect the back four. Surprisingly, Wayne Rooney was second on the list with 10 assists. This is surprising as the captain spent most of his time on the bench. Zlatan Ibrahimovic had 9 assists, while Anthony Martial had 8 assists.

There wasn’t one player on United that stood out for the assist stat. This may be what United is missing in its lineup. Other teams have players like Cesc Fabregas, Kevin De Bruyne, and Christian Ericksen who are the assist kings. United may use this window to look for a player that is similar to those players mentioned above.
