Anthony Martial has come out and Twitter to state the transfer rumors surrounding his name were totally false. The French winger will begin his third season with United in the coming weeks when United goes to the United States for their preseason tour.

There were rumors circulating that Tottenham, Arsenal, and West Ham were all interested in the French striker. Martial has been with the club for two seasons and has experienced his highs and lows.

Martial came out and dismissed these rumors on Twitter. He tweeted, “Les rumeurs sont fausses“. This is translated as “The rumors are false “. This is promising for Manchester United fans as it seems the winger will stay at Old Trafford.

Under Louis Van Gaal, Martial was the club’s top scorer and was in tremendous form for the Red Devils. This may have been due to the playing style of Van Gaal where United would build the attack slowly. Martial, in that system, was able to run at defenders at will and create his own space.

This season, Martial struggled for most of the season. Mourinho’s counter-attacking style doesn’t seem to suit the Frenchman. He will have to adapt next season in order to be in Mourinho’s plans. At times he seemed to adapt last season and provided a great example of this when he scored a tremendous counter-attacking goal against Bournemouth.

Fans of the Red Devils will hope Martial will turn things around this season. He has the abilities to become a world-class talent. He doesn’t have much time to showcase this as United are linked with Ivan Perisic from Inter Milan. Martial will hope Mourinho restores his faith in him and he can get on scoring goals for United.
