Scott McTominay made his senior team debut on Sunday when he came on in the 84th minute against Arsenal. Find out why the Scottish attacker could be Manchester’s next star.

While Scott’s performance has been limited by his lack of minutes in the senior team, his skill and talent in the U23 league have shown, tacking on three goals in 16 appearances.

This is McTominay’s second consecutive appearance in the first team squad, after being an unused substitute for the game against Swansea.  With a decreasing depth at the striker position, fans can surely expect to see more of Scott and other academy players in the future.

In the game, McTominay showed his ability and promise after belting in a shot that would be saved by Petr Cech in stoppage time.

The 20-year-old wasn’t the only one making his debut. Axel Tuanzebe made his first start for Manchester United, playing in the center back position.

When asked about the player’s appearances, Mourinho said: “It’s an important day in [Axel Tuanzebe’s] career and also for Scott [McTominay]. It was just a few minutes but to play in the Premier League, they showed good character so I am happy for them.”

Scott McTominay shows promise in a position Manchester United currently lacks in following the injury to Zlatan Ibrahimovic.  The center forward has a unique scoring ability and can add some flare to an offense that lacks it.
