Manchester United Transfer Rumours: Ibrahimovic to the MLS?
Zlatan Ibrahimovic has arguably kept Manchester United afloat this season as their leading scorer, but with more teams targeting him, Zlatan’s Premier League career could see a quick ending.
After picking up a season ending injury that could sideline him until 2018, some clubs are looking to swoop in and pick up Ibrahimovic in the later part of his career. Among those are MLS clubs like the Los Angeles Galaxy, and North American Soccer Team Los Angeles FC.
Whilst there isn’t many clubs out there looking to pick up a striker who can only play half a season, let alone at the steep age of 35, clubs like LAFC looking to boost their popularity will be in the market for the Swedish attacker.
However, even for the man that shows us age is just a number, there is still doubt that someone as old as him will ever be able to recover from an injury as serious as this.
According to WhoScored, in his 51 appearances this season, he led the team with 28 goals, as well as tacking on an additional eight assists.
Recently former legends and World Cup winners like Bastian Schweinsteiger and Kaka have moved to the MLS as they near their career end. This steady trend is rapidly growing, with more and more older players heading to the United States and China to retire.
There aren’t too many clubs willing to fork out the money that China will give world-class players these days, however, reports suggest Los Angeles FC have offered upwards of $6.4m a year.

Ibrahimovic is going to be out of contract come summertime, so teams will be able to pick him up without a fee, but Manchester United still has the chance to offer him a contract. Still, if his injury does not improve, then it would be difficult for the Reds to give a new contract, especially for a full year.
