The captain has not been a large part of the United squad in recent weeks. Mourinho called upon Rooney to step up in the absence of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and the captain did exactly that. It is a good sign he is back on the scoresheet and will hope to bag some more goals in the absence of Ibrahimovic in the dying stages of the season.
