Manchester United move through to the Europa League semi-finals after a 2-1 victory after extra time. The Reds will find out their opponents on Friday at 11:00 GMT.

Once again Manchester United was the better team when playing host at Old Trafford. The Red Devils dominated RSC Anderlecht and could have killed the game off way earlier than they did. It took extra time for Marcus Rashford to splendidly slot one into the Anderlecht goal.

The game started with absolute dominance from Manchester United and the Red Devils looked like they were going to carry away with the game. In the 10th minute, Henrikh Mkhitaryan took a pass from Marcus Rashford and blasted it past Ruben Martinez. The Anderlecht goalkeeper had no chance at saving the shot from the Armenian.

The Red Devils lost Marcos Rojo in the 19th minute after a 50/50 challenge. The Argentinian defender was taken off on a stretcher and it does not look good for the center back. Daley Blind slotted in for Rojo and had a tough day.

In the 32nd minute, Youri Tielemans had a strike deflected onto the crossbar which fell to Sofiane Hanni who sent it past Sergio Romero. The Reds were unlucky to concede the goal but the defensive organization could have been better.

The second half came and went with Manchester United threatening the Anderlecht goal all game. Several opportunities came to the feet of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Marcus Rashford. After an Anderlecht miscue, Rashford was clean through and tried to dribble past the keeper but the youngster knocked the ball too far past the keeper. This was a prime example of how the Reds second half occurred.

Just before extra time, Ibrahimovic landed awkwardly landed and hyperextended his knee. Jose Mourinho will hope the big Swede has no ligament damage and will be able to contribute again this season.

As extra time came, Marcus Rashford slotted past Martinez from a knockdown from Marouane Fellaini. The England international finally put one away and sent United in the last four of the Europa League.
