With the international break coming to a close, we look at the performances of the Manchester United players who were called up to represent their country this past week.

Manchester United had a total of 14 players called up for international duty during the break.  England was the most represented, with four Reds on the team. While other countries represented were Italy, Belgium, Spain, Netherlands, Argentina, Armenia, Ecuador, and Ivory Coast.

England-Smalling, Shaw, Lingard, Rashford

Germany vs. England (Final 1-0 Germany)

A goal from Lukas Podolski sealed the win for Germany, and capped off a wonderful international career for the German. England held on until the 69th minute when Podolski shot an absolute wonder of a goal which received applause from both fans. Chris Smalling started and was the only appearance for United.

England vs. Lithuania

England traveled home to Wembley on Sunday to face Lithuania, as no Reds were selected for the starting eleven. The Three Lions captured a 2-0 victory as both Defoe and Vardy scored.

Belgium-Fellaini

Belgium vs. Greece (Final 1-1)

Fellaini made the start in Belgium’s lineup versus Greece, and did receive a yellow card in the match before being pulled out in the 66th minute. Lukaku equalized in 89′ to level the game at 1-1, and that was the way it finished.

Spain-De Gea, Herrera

Spain vs. Israel (Final 4-1 Spain)

De Gea was the only Red to appear for Spain, as he started in goal, and allowed one goal through. He also recorded two saves to assist Spain in their large victory.

Netherlands-Blind

Netherlands vs. Bulgaria (Final 2-0 Bulgaria)

The Dutch suffered an embarrassing defeat at the hands of Bulgaria, which resulted in the sacking of Daley Blind’s dad, Danny Blind. In addition, Blind had a rather insignificant game, and did not play to much of a part in their defeat.

Argentina-Romero, Rojo

Argentina vs. Chile (Final 1-0 Argentina)

Sergio Romero started for Argentina as he managed to keep a clean sheet in this Copa America final rematch. Lionel Messi scored from the penalty spot to give Argentina the lead that they would keep for the rest of the match.
