Wayne Rooney has fallen out of favor with Jose Mourinho. After massive speculation that the England captain was off to China, Rooney has committed to United for now. He has obviously fallen down the pecking order, even though he has become the club’s top goal scorer.

Mourinho could call on Rooney as he has bags of experience as a center forward and has the eye for goal. He only has two goals thus far in the Premier League and has rarely been used up top. The manager clearly trusts Rooney after backing him on several occasions, so it would not be a surprise to see the 31-year old get the nod up front.
