Lee Grant (Stoke City)
The Potters goalkeeper had a point to prove coming into this fixture. After the injury to Jack Butland, Mark Hughes needed a new first choice goalkeeper. Grant came in and produced some fine saves and helped Stoke City leave Old Trafford with a point.
An example of his fine display was a double save in a 1 v 1 situation against Zlatan Ibrahimovic just in the second minute of play. On several occasions, Grant denied the big Swede. Grant made 8 saves on the day after United took a total of 24 shots.
In the second half, Grant was finally beaten by Anthony Martial to open the scoring for United. It looked like the result was in the bag for United, but a costly error by David De Gea saw Joe Allen tap home the equalizer. This ended up being the end of the scoring with a 1-1 draw between the two sides.
Not too many people had heard of Lee Grant before this match. The man on loan from Derby County was incredible and nothing seemed to go wrong for him. Since then, Grant has been a staple in the Stoke City starting XI and has gained the trust from his manager.
