Southampton are looking like one of the form teams in the league as it stands. This is down to three wins and one draw in the past five games. With only a surprising loss to Crystal Palace tarnishing their record. Southampton have had a relatively easy record with wins over Bournemouth, Everton, and Middlesbrough, but these wins are needed to be a top four contender which Southampton can be with these results.

Southampton are an outlier with only five goals scored and four goals conceded. However, like West Ham, their goals scored are spread out while their goals conceded are congested with three clean sheets in the past five games. Their defensive record is fine with the amount of clean sheets but they need to improve their shooting and scoring if they want to secure a European spot. Southampton have done a great job though beating teams they should be winning rather than having too many unpredictable results.

The Saints have Tottenham, West Brom, and Everton coming up in their next three games. They should expect six points from these two games and the Spurs game being a very important game for their European ambitions. They could even consider Champions League if they can take all nine points.
