Manchester City and manager Pep Guardiola are having a hard time after a red-hot start to the league. With a convincing loss to Chelsea and a thrashing by Leicester, City are starting to lose their fear factor. They won two easy games against Watford and Burnley which most top four candidates should be winning. However, their win over Arsenal wasn’t that convincing and was more down to Arsenal having a second-half meltdown rather than City playing well.

Man City have only scored nine goals in their past five games, a low number for any Guardiola side. However, they’ve also conceded nine goals too, another surprising Guardiola number. With only playing at a zero goal differential in these past five games, Guardiola and City need to go back to the basics that they were doing at the start of the season when they won 10 in a row. They need to sort out their defensive issues if they want to put up a title challenge.

With Hull, Liverpool, and Burnley being their next three fixtures, City should be getting at least six points. Their big test however is the Liverpool game. Guardiola has always had problems against Jurgen Klopp, and City have always had problems against Liverpool. If they can get maximum points, they can assert themselves as a title contender.
Number four of their RDA power rankings is a surprising addition…
