The North East team have been playing football that is distinctly average. But average isn’t bad if you want to stay in the EPL. In their last five games, Boro have won twice, with one draw, and two losses. Those losses came to Southampton and Liverpool, two teams that Boro aren’t expected to win. The two wins came against Hull and Swansea, two teams who are around the same level of quality and the draw came against Leicester. These results are what Middlesbrough need to stay in the league and are staying consistent.

With six goals in the past five games, Boro aren’t scoring bags of goals but they are still getting them. If they want to go up in the league and maybe even challenge for Europe, they will need to start scoring more and more consistently spread out. They have also only conceded six goals in the past five games which means Boro are playing at a significantly average rate. It’s not a bad sign for them to stay in the league, but if they want to contend for even higher rewards than they will have to up their game.

Their next three games are against Man United, Burnley, and Leicester. In those three games they should at least get four points and if so they will further cement themselves as a premier league team.

The first team in the top 10 of the RDA power rankings have been playing well but are starting to slip up…
