Renato Sanches, Midfielder

The teenager is a prodigious talent and, for the right fee, could be signed from Benfica this summer.

Sanches is also a player who has been heavily linked with a move to United. He would, though, be a long-term buy rather than someone for next season.

But United have a good track record of signing highly rated prospects and overseeing their development to become world-class players. Cristiano Ronaldo, Wayne Rooney and David De Gea are examples from the last decade, while Luke Shaw and Anthony Martial are next in line to join that list.

Sanches is an energetic, box-to-box midfielder and would be a hit in the frantic, fast-paced Premier League.

Although United need to sign proven and experienced players in order to challenge for silverware, they also need to buy for the future, and Sanches fits the bill perfectly in that regard.
