Manchester United’s Top 5 Most Promising Academy Players
4. Adnan Januzaj, Midfielder
The 21-year-old is so naturally gifted, but he has endured a miserable season.
After working his way into the starting XI in August, the Belgian was then loaned out to Borussia Dortmund to great surprise. In Germany, at a very good side, he found his opportunities limited and played just 160 minutes in the Bundesliga.
Since returning to United, Januzaj has failed to work his way back into contention. The reason is unclear, but what is certain is that the youngster is approaching a critical juncture in his career.
An attacking, technically assured midfielder, he has the talent to remain in the first-team picture at United for years to come. However, he may not get too many more chances before he leaves the club again, either permanently or on loan.
That said, for someone with so much ability, it’s hard to see Januzaj not reestablishing himself at United.
