Nani’s neat footwork on the right flank enabled him to deliver a good cross into the box. Berbatov handled the cross on his thigh, made sure he had got enough on it to take it to an optimum height, and then pulled the trigger with an amazing overhead kick. The ball sailed into the top right corner past Pepe Reina, leaving the Spaniard rooted to his spot and stricken with the piece of brilliance he ha witnessed.
