1. David De Gea was born, grew up, signed for Man Utd and won the league
This is fun. Manchester United’s goalkeeper is just 24 years old meaning that he’s yet to see Liverpool lift a league title in his lifetime. In fact, since Liverpool last won the title he’s been born, grew up in Spain, won the Europa League with his boyhood club Atletico Madrid, signed for Manchester United and won the Premier League title with the Reds. Now he looks likely to leave Old Trafford too, all before Liverpool have seen their last league title.
2. Ryan Giggs made his debut, played over 1000 games and won 34 trophies
Ryan Giggs, the legend of all legends. Mr Manchester United is by far the most decorated player in Manchester United history and is undoubtedly one of the greatest players ever to wear the famous Red shirt. Giggs made his debut for the club in 1992 and played a record 963 times, scoring 168 times. He also won 34 trophies with the Red Devils including 13 league titles and two Champions League titles. He’s since retired too and become the assistant manager at the club, after having a brief spell in charge of the team at the end of last seaon, before his playing days were officially deemed over. A long successful career, all since Liverpool last won the league.
3. Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi have scored 934 goals between them

So it’s not really about Manchester United, but Ronaldo is a Reds legend and this stat is simply incredible. Cristiano Ronaldo made his official senior debut during the 2002/03 season while Messi made his debut the following year in the 2003/04 season. Both players are regarded as comfortably the best players in their generation and even the best ever. But combined the two individuals have scored a mind-boggling 934 (!) goals between them since making their debuts. It’s not been goals for nothing either. Between them they’ve also won SEVEN Ballon D’Or’s, five Champions League trophies, four World Club Cup’s and, of course, ten league titles.
4. Manchester United have won 13 league titles, with 86 different players getting a medal
Back at Anfield in 1994, the Liverpool fans unfurled a banner that read ‘Au Revoir Cantona, come back when you’ve won 18!’. Well this season, Manchester United went to Anfield as 20-time league champions, played Liverpool off the park and left again effectively ending Liverpool’s chances of finishing in the Top 4 this season. While United won’t win the league this season, they have won it 13 times since Liverpool last did with an incredible 86 different players picking up a league winners medal in a Manchester United shirt. Sharing is caring.
5. Michael Owen came through the Liverpool academy, left, signed for Man Utd and won the league

Now this, this is funny. Michael Owen was the hottest prospect to come out of the Liverpool academy in a very long time when he made his debut in 1996. He was a Liverpool legend, scoring 158 times for them during his time at the club and helping them win the FA Cup with his two goals against Arsenal in the final in 2001. He left under murky circumstances in 2004 though, signing for Spanish giants Real Madrid in a deal worth just £8 million. After a rocky time in Madrid, he signed for Newcastle where injury problems got the better of him. It was then that Sir Alex Ferguson made the shocking decision to sign Owen on a free transfer for Manchester United in 2009. He was never a first-team player and never really made an impact at the club, barring his last-gasp winner against Manchester City in the derby to win the game 4-3. Despite this, he did win a Premier League title during his three years at the club meaning he makes this list. In fact, Michael Owen is the only player to come through Liverpool’s academy and lift the Premier League trophy. He just did it for Manchester United.
