Marcel Sabitzer´s future in Manchester United
Manchester United are trying to fulfil the need for a midfielder, the club is thinking about making the loan of Marcel Sabitzer, a permanent deal, and for him to become the player to cover that position. Let’s remember that Sabtizer´s loan is until the end of the season without a buying option.
The Austrian player since arriving at the club has played a total of ten games, which are divided into six games in the Premier League, two games in the FA Cup and 1 game in both Europa League and EFL Cup, having in his personal account, two goals and one assist in the five hundred ninety-one minutes he has been on the pitch.
According to Diario AS, Bayern Munich has already put a price on Marcel Sabitzer which consist of 20 million. The German club, paid 16 million for the midfielder while he was at RB Leipzig, and they will not accept a lower amount, because they want to recover and stay in profit with the possibility of a permanent deal with the English club.
What does he bring to Manchester United?
Since his arrival, Sabitzer has played at a very high level every time he is in the field, making important appearances and helping the club in the difficult games with his vision, positioning and good shooting, which ended up in gaining Erik Ten Hag´s trust on managing the team´s midfield.
With this incorporation, Manchester United, will gain a player with a good pass and an excellent vision to find his teammates on the pitch. As he has proven in the last couple of games, Sabitzer is a player that it is characterized by his short passes, but also the ability to suppress the situation of the game with a front change to the other side of the field, keeping the ball in their team’s possession and far away of the rival pressure.
The twenty-nine years old player could bring more possession and ball control to United, this means that during the game you are going to see him near the play, in a position where if he receives the ball, he will have time to think and lead the ball in the right direction. But also when United are attacking, we can see him play next to Weghorst as a striker to try and finish the play. We can observe these movements in the match against Fulham for the FA Cup, where the second goal, which determines the win of Manchester United, came along with a previous gesture of Sabitzer, which leaves him without a rival near him, so he could just touch the ball with his foot and make the winning goal of the match.
The most important attribute that the Austrian player has that helps Manchester United, is his confidence to shoot if he is in front of the goal, making this a solution for Erik Ten Hag´s team lack of goals. As portrayed before, because of his movements, Sabitzer mostly commonly finds himself in front of the goalkeeper inside or outside the box, and with his good feet to put the ball in the place he wants, he is becoming an issue for the other goalkeepers.
