Portugal striker and Manchester United player Cristiano Ronaldo, during an interview with Piers Morgan, has revealed that he does not think that the current Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag, respects him.

The former Real Madrid star made his feelings known recently during an English Premier League game against Tottenham Hotspur when he refused to come on with three minutes left in the game. CR7 then left the stadium with the match still in progress. Despite apologizing for his actions, it seems that the star striker has not taken kindly to his lack of regular playing time.

"Cristiano Ronaldo: “He [Ten Hag] don’t respect the way I should deserve. But it is what it is. This is why probably, the game against Tottenham, I left.”"

With less than three days to go until the World Cup kicks off, the top scorer in the history of the sport keeps adding fuel to the fire, adding that many things the former Ajax manager has said make no sense.

"Cristiano Ronaldo: “Okay, you don’t put me against Manchester City because of respect of your career and you want to put me three minutes against Tottenham. It doesn’t make sense…”."

On the subject of his suspension for his actions at Old Trafford against Tottenham, Ronaldo stressed that he was “very disappointed” with the club.

"Cristiano Ronaldo: “I was very, very, very, very disappointed for the communication of Manchester United. To be honest, I never had a problem with any club, with any coach. And they suspend me three days, which I felt it was a lot.”"

Cristiano Ronaldo also opened up on his suspension from Manchester United

Morgan Piers proceeded by asking him if the suspension was humiliating for him, to which Ronaldo replied that he felt that way. He even shared a personal story of his son’s reaction to the news.

"Cristiano Ronaldo: “I remember arriving home and Cristiano see me and say ‘Daddy do not go to the game?’ I say ‘No, because the club punish me with three days’. He did like *laughs* ‘How they’re going to punish you if you are the best player in the world?'”"

Cristiano Ronaldo’s next game would be leading his country Portugal in what will be his fifth World Cup, playing against Ghana on November 24 in Group H.

Meanwhile, Manchester United will return to the pitch in a friendly against La Liga club Cadiz in Spain on December 7, which is expected to feature academy players as well as players who will not be playing in this year’s World Cup.
