Manchester United have made some impressive additions to their squad in the summer in the form of Christian Eriksen, Lisandro Martinez, Casemiro and Antony. Thus, after many years, it feels like the Red Devils could be headed in a positive direction. Of course, there have been numerous false dawns over the past decade or so. It remains to be seen if this is another one or finally light at the end of the tunnel.

Manchester United cannot rest on their laurels though and need to keep their eyes on continuing to improve the team. And one player that they have been linked with recently is Jude Bellingham of Borussia Dortmund.

It is hard to believe that Bellingham is still just 19 years of age. He has been one of the best players in the Bundesliga for some time now and also proven himself at the Champions League-level. Thus, he would be considered as a great signing for any team in Europe at this point.

But as reported by The Athletic (via Express), Borussia Dortmund aren’t resigned to losing the teenager in 2023 and are only willing to let him leave if their £131.6m (€150m) asking price is met.

Manchester United will have to break British transfer record if they are to sign midfielder

Thus, it will take a British transfer record from Manchester United to sign the English international in the near future.

They were linked with him while he was at Birmingham City as well but Bellingham decided to move to Borussia Dortmund, and it is safe to say that that decision has paid off for him as he has developed into one of the brightest prospects in Europe.

Other than Manchester United, the likes of Liverpool, Manchester City, Chelsea and Real Madrid are also believed to be interested in Bellingham.
