Manchester United are in an interesting position right now. They lost the first two games of the season in terrible fashion but then bounced back to win four on the trot. On the other hand, their Europa League campaign began with a disheartening defeat at the hands of Real Sociedad. Thus, this is a side that is starting to find the right path but still has a long way to go.

Amidst all this, there is one player who seems to be completely lost though. And that is none other than Cristiano Ronaldo.

It is believed that he tried to engineer an exit in the summer, and was linked with clubs like Chelsea, Bayern Munich, PSG and several others, but there just did not seem to be a lot of interest in a 37-year-old Ronaldo.

But as reported by The Sun, Manchester United stars believe that Ronaldo will push for a January transfer after losing his place in the team to Marcus Rashford.

At this point of time, things are not looking good for Ronaldo, who is yet to score or assist. And even more importantly, he is not even playing much anymore.

Ronaldo has only started one game in the Premier League this season and that ended in a 4-0 defeat for Manchester United at the hands of Brentford. He also started against Real Sociedad, another loss for the Red Devils. The Portuguese superstar has come on as a substitute in every other game.

Thus, it is pretty clear that Erik ten Hag does not view Ronaldo as a starter in his team and instead seems to prefer Rashford, who for his part, has had a great start to the season.

Thus, it would come as no surprise if Ronaldo tries to leave Manchester United in January. The question is, where will he end up at, if he did manage to exit Old Trafford?
