Elon Musk ends speculation of him buying Manchester United
The Glazers’ ownership of Manchester United has been a topic of hot discussion in recent times, as the club continue to struggle to reach their former glory years. The Red Devils have not won a single trophy in five straight seasons now and last won the Premier League title back in the 2012/13 campaign, in what was Sir Alex Ferguson’s last season in the managerial hot seat at Old Trafford.
It goes without saying that Manchester United need to improve significantly. Otherwise, they will continue to slip down the English footballing pecking order. At the moment, they do not even look like a top four contender, having lost both of their games this season till now and in convincing fashion. They face Liverpool next, who had gone through a similar lean phase for years but have returned to the top following the appointment of Jurgen Klopp as manager.
Manchester United fans hope that Erik ten Hag can have a similar impact at Old Trafford, but in the eyes of many supporters, a change of ownership is needed for any positive change to take place at the club.
Thus, when Elon Musk tweeted out that he was buying Manchester United, it sent the fan base into a frenzy, but as it turns out, it was just a joke. When asked about it, he tweeted back:

It will be interesting to see what happens with the ownership situation of Manchester United, as it has ended up becoming a top of debate in the mainstream media over the past couple of weeks.
The most important thing right now though is for the performances on the pitch to improve. Hopefully, the club will make more additions to their squad before the transfer window slams shut in order to help with that.
Till now, Manchester United have signed Tyrell Malacia, Christian Eriksen and Lisandro Martinez this summer.
