Manchester United want to sign former Manchester City star

Manchester United have not had the easiest time in the summer transfer window this time around. The Red Devils have managed to add the likes of Lisandro Martinez, Christian Eriksen and Tyrell Malacia to their ranks, but a lot more is needed if they are to challenge for titles and finish in the top four, which they did not do last season.

Manchester United might very well need to strengthen their attacking options. Edinson Cavani has already left the club this summer, while Cristiano Ronaldo’s future is up in the air as well. On the other hand, players like Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho were disappointing last season.

As a result, Erik ten Hag could do with some fresh legs and ideas in the final third of the pitch. Manchester United have been linked with Antony of Ajax recently but it looks like they have alternative targets on their radar as well.

After impressing at Manchester City, Sane moving to Bayern Munich was expected to be a grand success.

Things have not quite turned out that way though. The German international has faced more struggles than anybody could have expected and with Sadio Mane joining Bayern Munich, opportunities could be even harder to come by.

As a result, one cannot rule out the possibility of Sane moving this summer, although there have not been a ton of rumours surrounding his potential exit from Bayern Munich.

It remains to be seen how things unfold but if Manchester United are able to sign Sane this summer, it has the potential to be a major coup for the Red Devils. It will certainly not be easy to pull off though, with Liverpool also believed to hold an interest.
