Manchester United could need to sign a striker this summer. Edinson Cavani left the club at the end of his contract. On the other hand, it is very possible that Cristiano Ronaldo could depart Old Trafford as well, as his future is still pretty much in the air. Anthony Martial has shown some glimpses in pre-season but it would be too big of a risk to depend on him to carry the scoring burden up front on his own.

Thus, it would not be a surprise if Manchester United end up signing another striker in the near future.

One of the names doing the rounds recently has been that of Benjamin Sesko, but it appears that there are more names on Erik ten Hag’s wish list.

As reported by 90min, a number of clubs including Manchester United and Chelsea are monitoring the situation of Jamie Vardy at Leicester City. The striker’s current deal expires next summer and talks over a new deal are yet to take place.

Manchester United and Chelsea are interested in Leicester City legend

Vardy often does not get the credit that he deserves. He is arguably the best player in Leicester City’s history and also one of the greatest goalscorers that the Premier League has ever seen.

According to stats from Transfermarkt, Vardy has scored 133 goals and provided 45 assists in 270 appearances for Leicester City in the Premier League.

Those are remarkable numbers, especially considering the fact that Leicester City are not one of the traditional big clubs in English football. They have won both the Premier League and FA Cup in recent years, with a lot of credit going to Vardy.

Vardy is now 35 years of age but that has not seemed to have had an impact on his ability to find the net. He did quite well in the previous campaign for the Foxes.
