Amidst what has been a disappointing 2021/22 season, Manchester United anticipate a major overhaul in the summer when the campaign comes to an end. The appointment of a permanent manager is expected along with the signings of several players, with the hopes of getting this team challenging for titles once again.

Manchester United have shown inconsistency in front of goal this season, with the forward line showing an overreliance on Cristiano Ronaldo.

The Portuguese superstar remains a good player, but he is 37 years of age and no longer as good as he once was. On the other hand, Edinson Cavani’s possible departure in the summer, as well question marks over the future of Marcus Rashford, mean that the Red Devils might have to go after a striker in the upcoming transfer window.

Manchester United have been linked with Erling Haaland for a long, long time, from even before he joined Borussia Dortmund. Rumours have continued to link the club and the player since then but it looks like Manchester City are now leading the race for his signature. Thus, the Red Devils might have to look elsewhere for their next number 9.

Manchester United considering move for Harry Kane in the summer

As reported by the Mirror, Manchester United are considering making a fresh summer move for Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane.

Kane was targeted by Manchester City last summer but a move did not take place. It is believed though that the England captain wants to join a club where he can compete for trophies on a consistent basis and after another underwhelming season for Tottenham Hotspur, he could try to leave once again.

On the other hand, with Kane’s current deal with Tottenham Hotspur running out in the summer of 2024 and him being 28 years of age, this upcoming transfer window might be the London club’s last chance to get a transfer fee north of £100 million for his departure.
