Manchester United are expected to bring in new players in the summer and one area that the club might need to improve in particularly is their midfield. It has already been a worry for a while now and on top of that, the Old Trafford futures of Paul Pogba, Nemanja Matic and Donny van de Beek are pretty much up in the air. Amidst all this, one player that the club have been linked with is Borussia Dortmund’s Jude Bellingham.
It is hard to believe that Bellingham is still just 18 years of age. He has already been a regular in Borussia Dortmund’s starting XI for a while now, and produced brilliant performances in Germany as well as in Europe.
Questions have been raised about Bellingham’s Borussia Dortmund future though, as the German club have struggled this season. Their Europa League exit at the hands of Rangers was a particular disappointment.
But as reported by Bild (via Metro), Bellingham has made it clear to Borussia Dortmund chiefs that he will remain at the club for the 2022/23 campaign and possibly beyond.
Bellingham has decided Borussia Dortmund future amid Manchester United links
According to stats from Transfermarkt, Bellingham has scored 6 goals and provided 12 assists in 34 appearances this season. He also has played multiple times for the England national team as well.
Thus, even if any club were able to sign him, it was expected to take a transfer fee around €100 million to pull any deal off if not more.
That had not stopped clubs like Manchester United, Liverpool and Chelsea from being linked with the midfielder. But for the time being, it appears that he will remain put where he is.
Still just 18 years of age though, it is safe to say that Bellingham has plenty of time on his hands to make a big move in the future.
