Manchester United are expected to bring in a new manager next summer unless something unexpected happens between now and then. It had looked like the club had settled on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer being the man in the hot seat for the foreseeable future but a disappointing start to the season saw him being shown the exit door and Ralf Rangnick being brought in in an interim role till the end of the season.
Things have not gone smoothly since then though. Rangnick has not made a massive impact and although Manchester United look much more difficult to beat, they are not getting enough wins of their own at the moment.
Thus, it looks like Rangnick will take up a consultancy role at Manchester United at the end of this season while a new permanent manager will be appointed next summer.
Several names like Mauricio Pochettino, Erik ten Hag and Luis Enrique have been brought up, but Roy Keane appears to believe that Diego Simeone is someone that the club should consider. As reported by the Mirror, speaking on The Overlap Live event in Manchester, he said:
"“Maybe Simeone, he’s the right kind of character.“He’s having a difficult spell with Atletico. His race has maybe run with them.“Simone, go and get him, he’s a big character.“He’s done great things. He’s a great character, a big personality. He doesn’t mess around with players. Maybe someone like him coming into the club, could work.”"

Simeone has been a magnificent manager for Atletico Madrid for the past several years and has definitely taken the club to the next level, in both Europe and in domestic competition, since arriving at the club.
But, this season, there is no hiding from the fact that they have struggled quite a bit and could end up finishing outside the top four in La Liga for the first time in a decade.
There is no doubt about his quality as a manager though and if he was to leave, there would be no lack of suitors for his signature. Now, it remains to be seen what the future holds for the Argentine.
