Coming into the game, most Manchester United fans must have been expecting the matchup with Leeds United to produce plenty of goals. And it is safe to say that it did not disappoint at all. Marcelo Bielsa’s side are not known for the defensive side of their game, and it was clear why, as they conceded four times against a team that has struggled to score more than once consistently since the arrival of Ralf Rangnick as interim manager.

This was a very different type of game though, with Manchester United finding the back of the net four times, with Harry Maguire, Bruno Fernandes, Fred and Anthony Elanga getting their names on the score sheet.

One man that most people would have expected to score in this fixture is Cristiano Ronaldo, but that did not end up happening.

That did not stop the Portuguese superstar from sharing a positive message with the Manchester United fans, as he tweeted out:

It was just recently that Ronaldo brought an end to his goalless drought, in the game against Brighton & Hove Albion, but on this occasion, he was not able to find the back of the net.

While Ronaldo remains the club’s top scorer in the Premier League and the Champions League this season, there is no doubting the fact that they probably would have expected a lot more from the Portuguese legend.

At this point of time, Manchester United find themselves in a very difficult situation in terms of winning something this season. In fact, the club have not won a trophy for four seasons now and will surely be looking to bring an end to that streak as soon as possible. It remains to be seen how things unfold over the coming weeks and months.
