Over the last few years, there have been several instances of players leaving Manchester United to join a club in the Serie A. The likes of Chris Smalling, Alexis Sanchez, Romelu Lukaku, Matteo Darmian and Ashley Young have been some of the popular names to make the move to Italy. And there could potentially be more to come in the future.

In the summer of 2020, Diogo Dalot joined AC Milan on a loan deal. He spent the 2020/21 season at the club and ended up playing a decent amount of football for the Italian giants. And it did appear to improve him as a player.

Following the loan deal, he returned to Manchester United last summer. And before the arrival of Ralf Rangnick as interim manager, it was looking likely that the Portuguese full-back would leave the Premier League side in January due to a lack of playing time.

But following Rangnick’s arrival at Old Trafford, the situation has drastically changed for the 22-year-old full-back and he looks like a first-team regular now. At the moment, he seems to be settled into the first-team at Manchester United, but that has not stopped Italian clubs from being linked with Dalot.

Fiorentina interested in Manchester United star

As reported by La Nazione (via Get Italian Football News), Fiorentina are interested in signing Dalot from Manchester United.

Fiorentina currently lack cover in their right-back position. Alvaro Odriozola, who is currently on loan from Real Madrid, has played quite a bit for La Viola this season. But the side lacks other options there, as well as the fact that the Spaniard is only at the club on a temporary basis.

Thus, the club might look to find a long-term answer to their full-back puzzle. And someone like Dalot would be a terrific signing. But at this point of time, it seems very unlikely that he will leave Manchester United.
