Manchester United sealed an extremely positive result on Tuesday night as they defeated Brighton & Hove Albion 2-0 to give their top four chances a massive boost. Coming into the midweek clash, the Red Devils had endured three consecutive setbacks. While one came in the form of a shocking defeat to Middlesbrough to get knocked out of the FA Cup, the other two were the back-to-back draws against Burnley and Southampton in the Premier League.

In the game against Brighton & Hove Albion, Manchester United were far from comfortable. In fact, they got dominated in the first-half but managed to come back after the break and seal the win, which they have not done frequently lately.

David de Gea’s brilliant reflexes had kept things level in the first half. In the second half, however, Manchester United showed their attacking abilities with Cristiano Ronaldo breaking his goal drought and Bruno Fernandes making it 2-0 in added time.

Following the game, Ronaldo sent out an exciting message to the Manchester United fans as he tweeted out:

It seems that Ronaldo was happy with his and the team’s performance in the win against Brighton & Hove Albion. Although he could have scored more than once on the night as he had two more good opportunities to put the ball into the back of the net, but overall, it was a positive display from the Portuguese star, who has been struggling recently.

According to stats from Transfermarkt, Ronaldo has scored 9 goals from 21 matches in the Premier League this season. While not bad at all, fans would have expected more from one of the greatest to ever do it.

Thanks to the 2-0 victory, Manchester United have entered the top four of the Premier League once again. And hopefully, things are really back on track.
