Manchester United were quiet in January in terms of incomings despite being in the middle of a Premier League top four race. The Red Devils did send out quite a few players out on loan last month after they had struggled for playing time at Old Trafford, to add to the several who had departed the club on a temporary basis in the summer. Now, it will be interesting to see how many of them have future at the Theatre of Dreams.
For many, it is hard to see a path into the Manchester United first-team. But for others, it might be just about developing their games a bit so that they are ready.
One player who has already played quite a bit of first-team football for Manchester United is Brandon Williams. He is currently out on loan at Norwich City and has gotten a decent amount of playing time with The Canaries.
And as reported by The Sun, Ralf Rangnick has told Williams that his future is at Manchester United and that he will definitely return to Old Trafford at the end of his loan spell with Norwich City.
Rangnick tells Williams that his future is at Manchester United
Williams had broken into the first-team picture at Manchester United in the 2019/20 campaign under the management of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and played quite a bit of regular football.
He did not get much game time in the following campaign though, with Luke Shaw and Aaron Wan-Bissaka nailing down the two full-back spots. And as a result, it was the right decision to send him out on loan this time around.
Williams is still just 21 years of age though and it looks like Manchester United have plans for him in the future. While Rangnick’s run as interim manager will be over at the end of this season, he will take on a consultancy role at the club after that.
