On paper, it is safe to say that Manchester United have one of the best squads in world football and when they started the season, most people had expected them to compete for the Premier League, as well as multiple other trophies. At the end of the day, this team had finished second last season and then added superstars like Cristiano Ronaldo, Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane to their ranks in the summer.
Unfortunately though, somehow, that has not worked out and the club have appeared to take a step back as a whole.
As a result, they are out of both the League Cup and the FA Cup, find themselves in a tough position in the Premier League where he might very possibly not finish in the top four and while the Champions League hope might still be alive, that is always very difficult to win.
One of the biggest reasons behind their drop in performances this season is the lack of form that some of their star players have showcased. And one such player is Marcus Rashford.
Rashford continues to struggle for form for Manchester United
Rashford had undergone surgery in the summer and when he returned to action earlier this season, he started brilliantly. Since then, his performances appear to have taken a major step back though.
And right now, it is hard to think that he is an automatic pick in the club’s starting XI like he has been in the past.
It will be interesting to see what the future holds for Rashford but it does feel like he is completely out of form at the moment and needs to rediscover his best as soon as possible. Otherwise, with players like Jadon Sancho at the club, Anthony Elanga rising through the ranks and more signings expected in the summer, things could get difficult.
