Manchester United could make surprise move for striker
Manchester United could potentially need to strengthen up top in the upcoming summer transfer window. The Red Devils have plenty of options in their forward department right now, in the form of Cristiano Ronaldo, Edinson Cavani and Marcus Rashford, while Anthony Martial is away on loan at Sevilla. But for all of their individual qualities, things have not worked out for the club going forward this season.
Very often, Manchester United have struggled to find the back of the net more than once, especially since the arrival of Ralf Rangnick as the club’s interim manager.
On top of that, it looks like Cavani could be on his way out of Manchester United at the end of the season when his current deal runs out after struggling for consistent minutes. Martial’s future is pretty much up in the air. And if the club fail to qualify for next season’s Champions League, one cannot rule out the possibility of Ronaldo leaving either.
Thus, Manchester United might need to sign a striker soon. And as reported by BBC, Rangnick is known to be an admirer of Czech Republic forward Patrik Schick.
Could Manchester United sign Schick next summer?
Schick currently plays for Bundesliga giants Bayer Leverkusen and has been absolutely superb for them this season.
According to stats from Transfermarkt, he has scored 18 goals and provided 7 assists in 18 Bundesliga appearances this season till now. On top of that, he had a brilliant EURO 2020 campaign as well.
Thus, Schick would definitely be an interesting option for Manchester United to consider. The club have also been linked with several other strikers in recent times though, including Erling Haaland, Alexander Isak and Darwin Nunez, just to name a few.
It remains to be seen how things turn out for Manchester United next summer but it is safe to say that the arrival of another striker will definitely help the club.
