Cristiano Ronaldo was welcomed back with open arms to Manchester United in the summer. The Portuguese superstar had left Real Madrid for Juventus a few years back but that run had not gone as one would have expected. He ended up completing a return to the club where he first made a name for himself and the start was magnificent to say the least. Since then though, things have not gone his way.
Ronaldo scored twice on his second Manchester United debut and over the first few weeks, he was looking like one of the best strikers in the world, even at the age of 36. But his form has slowly but surely faded away.
Right now, Ronaldo is struggling to very honest. And was recently left out of Manchester United’s starting XI, in the game against Burnley.
As reported by the Daily Star, Ronaldo has become disillusioned with life at Old Trafford and wants to meet Jorge Mendes to discuss what his options will be at the end of the season. He has also let it be known that he would not support Ralf Rangnick’s appointment as the club’s next permanent manager.
Ronaldo makes decision surrounding his Manchester United future
It remains to be seen what Ronaldo decides to do moving forward but at this point of time, it is safe to say that he is nowhere near the top of his game.
Also, if he was to leave Manchester United in the summer, his options are expected to be very limited.
Rumours had suggested that there had not been a lot of potential destinations when he left Juventus last summer, and combine that with his underwhelming spell at Manchester United as well as the fact that he is now 37 years of age, and a move for Ronaldo does not feel like the most attractive prospect.
