Having been knocked out of the FA Cup by Middlesbrough recently, the majority of Manchester United’s focus must now turn towards the Premier League and finishing in the top four of the competition. Of course, that is easier said than done with Chelsea, Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur, West Ham United and Wolves, also competing for the third and fourth spot.
Thus, it is safe to say that the race for the top four is tough and Manchester United have a mountain to climb.
In that regard, they were handed a huge blow against Burnley recently, as the game ended in a 1-1 draw. Paul Pogba had put Manchester United ahead but the Red Devils would concede right after the break and ultimately, the two sides could not be separated after 90 minutes despite the fact that Sean Dyche’s side sit bottom of the Premier League right now.
Thus, it is safe to say that Manchester United will need to bounce back when they take on Southampton in their next Premier League game. Anything other than all three points would be bad news when it comes to the club’s top four hopes.
Manchester United Predicted XI vs Southampton: Ronaldo return
Here’s how we think Ralf Rangnick could line Manchester United up, when they take on Southampton in the Premier League in an important game:
David de Gea

There are a number of players at Manchester United, who have underwhelmed this season. Fortunately, David de Gea is not one of them and till now, he appears to be the club’s Player of the Year by quite some distance.
The goalkeeper has looked back to his best this season and it is hard to imagine that going into the summer, it had looked like his time at Old Trafford was coming to an end. If he can keep performing like this, the Spaniard has several years left in the tank.
