Manchester United had a very quiet January transfer window in terms of incomings, with most of their focus on letting players leave on loan in the middle of the season. As a result, several of their players, who were struggling for minutes at Old Trafford, got temporary moves away from Old Trafford. These include Donny van de Beek joining Everton, Anthony Martial joining Sevilla, Amad joining the Rangers, and several others, all on a temporary basis.
There was another loan move that Manchester United appeared to be interested in though, which they could not pull off.
As reported by Manchester Evening News, Martin Dubravka rejected a deadline day loan move to Manchester United, who were ready to swap Dean Henderson until the end of the season.
It is not hard to see why Dubravka might not want a loan move to Manchester United at this point of time, with there being very little chance of him starting at Old Trafford ahead of David de Gea. On the other hand, the goalkeeper is getting some decent playing time at Newcastle United.

Henderson might have become the first-choice goalkeeper at Old Trafford in the second half of last season but this time around, he has had a very tough time getting into the Manchester United first-team with De Gea in inspired form.
As a result, he could have certainly done with a move away in January in search of playing time. But, if he was to leave, Manchester United would need to bring in a back up goalkeeper.
Thus, a swap deal was a very possible solution for the situation but unfortunately, it appears that they could not get it done and as a result, Henderson might have to sit on the bench for the rest of the campaign.
