Manchester United dropped a couple more points in the Premier League as they were able to only get a 1-1 draw against Burnley away at Turf Moor. And what is even more disappointing than the result is the fact that the Red Devils had their fair share of chances to get all three points from this game but just could not take them, similar to when they got knocked out of the FA Cup at the hands of Middlesbrough recently.

The situation is far from ideal for Manchester United to say the least, as with every dropped point, finishing in the top four becomes more difficult for them.

It had looked like it was going to be a positive night for the Red Devils when Paul Pogba put them ahead in the 18th minute and considering the amount of chances that they had, it was disappointing for them to go into half-time just 1-0 up.

Burnley would equalise straight after the break, through Jay Rodriguez in the 47th minute and the two sides could not be separated after that, with the game ending 1-1.

Top four race gets much tougher

After being knocked out of the FA Cup recently, Manchester United’s primary aim has to be finishing in the top four of the Premier League.

That is easier said than done though, with clubs like Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal, West Ham United and Wolves also in the running, with third and fourth spot appearing to be up for grabs.

With the 1-1 draw against Burnley, who are currently at the bottom of the Premier League table, things got much more difficult for Manchester United in the top four race.
