Paul Pogba’s current Manchester United contract runs out next summer with an extension not looking close at this point of time. Although his Old Trafford future is up in the air, it does feel like most fans have given up the hope of seeing him play for the club come next season. There could potentially be a late twist in the tale though as the French World Cup winner might yet perform a U-turn.

Pogba joined Manchester United in the summer of 2016 from Juventus in a then world record transfer, having originally departed Old Trafford as a teenager.

Hopes were that he would become one of the best players in the world and guide Manchester United back to their title winning ways. That has not been the case though as Pogba’s form has blown hot and cold, and he looks very close to leaving the club for the second time.

But as reported by The Sun, Pogba is open to staying at Manchester United if Ralf Rangnick remains the manager next season, after being impressed by the German coach.

It remains to be seen how things unfold but it is hard to see Rangnick being in the managerial hot seat at Manchester United next season unless something unexpected happens and they end up winning the Champions League or the Premier League.

While the results have certainly improved since the arrival of Rangnick as the interim manager of Manchester United, the performances have left a lot to be desired. And the FA Cup elimination at the hands of Middlesbrough was very disappointing to say the least.

As a result, Pogba’s time at Manchester United might come to an end soon. There is not expected to be any lack of interest in his signature though with clubs like Barcelona, Real Madrid, PSG and Juventus linked with the French midfielder.
