Manchester United completed a dream move for Cristiano Ronaldo last summer, bringing him back to the Theatre of Dreams after over a decade away. The club legend with the familiar number on his back soon appeared to pick up where he had left off, making a brilliant start to his second stint at Old Trafford. On his return to the Premier League, the Portuguese superstar scored a brace against Newcastle United.

According to stats from Transfermarkt, Ronaldo has scored 14 goals and provided 3 assists from 24 appearances across all competitions. And at the age of 37, he is still going strong. But that being said, he is not the club’s long-term solution up top.

Due to a shock defeat in the FA Cup at the hands of Middlesbrough, Manchester United suffered an early knock-out from the competition.

It has increased the likelihood of the Red Devils going trophyless for the fifth successive season. There is also the possibility that they might not qualify for next season’s Champions League. And if that happens, it is very possible that Ronaldo might look to leave Manchester United again.

Manchester United want £75 million striker linked with Arsenal

As reported by the Mirror, Manchester United and Chelsea are both keen on Real Sociedad’s Alexander Isak, who was heavily linked with a move to Arsenal in January.

Isak’s current deal with Real Sociedad is believed to run until the summer of 2026. As a result, the Spanish club are not expected to be under any pressure to part ways with the Swedish international. He has a £75 million release clause in his contract.

There are uncertainties over the futures of several of Manchester United’s forwards like Ronaldo, Edinson Cavani and Anthony Martial. Thus, they might very well need to strengthen there next summer. And it will be interesting to see whether they end up making a move for Isak.
