Mauricio Pochettino has been linked with the Manchester United job for a long time now. The links go back to when he was the manager of Tottenham Hotspur but it has just not transpired till now. That could change soon though. Ralf Rangnick is only the interim manager of the Red Devils till the end of the season and they are expected to make a long-term appointment in the summer.

On the other hand, Pochettino’s run at Paris Saint-Germain is not going as one would have expected. While they might be top of the Ligue 1 table, all things considered, they are nowhere near expectations at the moment.

Thus, it looks like Pochettino could be shown the exit door in the not too distant future and that could open the door for Manchester United to swoop in and make a move happen.

As reported by Foot Mercato (via Get French Football News), Pochettino was ready to join Manchester United last month and plans to leave Paris at the end of the season.

Manchester United get huge Pochettino boost

It is safe to say that it does look like Manchester United might have a solid chance to bring Pochettino to Old Trafford in the not too distant future.

But the question is, should they go after the Argentine after how it has gone for him at Paris Saint-Germain?

There, he has one of the best squads ever assembled in the history of football and yet, the side have appeared to take a step back in recent times.

Thus, would he be able to get the job done at Manchester United, who have struggled since the retirement of Sir Alex Ferguson in 2013. It remains to be seen. It must be pointed out though that he had a brilliant time managing in the Premier League, building quite a reputation during his spells at Southampton and then Tottenham Hotspur.
