Get Cristiano Ronaldo going once again

Ronaldo completed a sensational return to Manchester United in the summer and was welcomed back to the Theatre of Dreams with open arms by the fans.

And he made a tremendous start to his second stint at Manchester United as well. One has to feel though that things have faded away quite a bit since then.

Now, it must be pointed out that Ronaldo is going to turn 37 years of age in a few days and he is no longer in his prime as a footballer, and understandably so. Manchester United cannot rely on him to deliver every day.

But he is still a fantastic goalscorer. He has already shown that this season and it does feel like he has a lot more to offer than he has in recent games.

Now, it must also be pointed out that the service for the Portuguese legend has not been the best either and if Manchester United are to get Ronaldo going once again, that is something that will need to improve.

Improve the defence

Another area that has been a problem for Manchester United for a long time is their defence. When the club signed Raphael Varane in the summer, many hoped that it would help transform their backline and turn it into one of the best in the Premier League.

That has not been the case though. Varane has had his own problems with both form and injuries. On the other hand, questions have been raised about the likes of Harry Maguire, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Luke Shaw as well.

If Manchester United are to have any chance of finishing in the top four this season, their defence will need to improve. Fortunately, there have been signs of that since the arrival of Ralf Rangnick as interim manager.
