Manchester United have not made a single signing in the January transfer window and the general feeling has been that the club are waiting till the summer to have a long-term manager in place before making any significant additions to their squad. But as they see their top four rivals make signings of their own, could the Red Devils change their stance and end up making a deadline day move as well?

It will certainly be interesting to see as there have not been a lack of players, who have been linked with a potential switch to Old Trafford this month.

One of them is Brighton & Hove Albion’s Yves Bissouma, who has been a standout in the Premier League in recent times and appears to have caught the interest of quite a few clubs, including Manchester United.

As tweeted out by journalist Fabrice Hawkins, Aston Villa, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur are trying to sign Bissouma. Brighton & Hove Albion are believed to be looking for a transfer fee of at least €45 million to let him leave.

Manchester United continue to be linked with move for Bissouma

This is not the first time that Manchester United have been linked with Bissouma. The rumours have existed since the summer.

It is not hard to see why Manchester United might need to sign another midfielder. Paul Pogba looks set to leave the club in the summer unless something unexpected happens and he ends up extending his deal. On the other, Donny van de Beek has been sent out on loan to Everton till the end of the campaign although his long-term future at Old Trafford remains up in the air.

Bissouma would be a solid signing for Manchester United but it is hard to see such a big deal happening this late on in the January transfer window.
