Frank Lampard looks set to become the new Everton manager and he appears to have a Manchester United star in his sights as a potential loan signing for the Merseyside club. The Toffees find themselves in a very difficult situation right now, having picked up just 19 points from 20 Premier League games and are sitting at 16th in the table, with a relegation battle not out of question.

Thus, it is safe to say that Lampard will have a tough task at hand if he does indeed end up getting the job, which is looking very likely right now.

Thus, one would expect Everton to make a few additions to their squad before the January transfer window slams shut, as they aim to remain in the top flight of English football. And one player that Lampard appears to be interested in is Manchester United’s Donny van de Beek.

As tweeted out by Fabrizio Romano, Lampard wants Everton to try for Van de Beek. On the other hand, Crystal Palace will push to get a deal done as well.

Lampard eyes loan move for struggling Manchester United star

Everton were linked with a move for Van de Beek in the summer as well but they could not get it done back then. And now, it looks like they could potentially try to agree a deal with Manchester United once again.

Van de Beek has endured a very difficult spell since joining Manchester United. According to stats from Transfermarkt, he has made 14 appearances this season till now, which have combined for just 380 minutes of football in total.

The situation is far from ideal for the Dutch midfielder to say the least, who was one of the highest-rated youngsters in the world during his time at Ajax.

It is looking like a two club race to sign Van de Beek on loan. Let’s see where he ends up.
