Manchester United look set to undergo significant changes at the club over the coming months. First of all, Ed Woodward’s departure and Richard Arnold replacing him as the club’s chief executive is going to be a massive change in itself and could potentially see a change in direction for the Red Devils. Secondly, there is set to be change in the managerial hot seat, with Ralf Rangnick only the interim manager and a long-term appointment is expected in the summer.
Rangnick is expected to take on a consultancy role at the end of the season. And one could expect a change in the club’s transfer policy moving forward with football director, John Murtough, and technical director, Darren Fletcher, also expected to play a big role.
The club enjoyed a tremendous summer transfer window this time around but the results on the pitch have been disappointing.
As reported by Manchester Evening News, Manchester United are planning for up to four signings in the upcoming summer transfer window.
Manchester United planning for up to four signings next summer
Midfield could be a position of priority for Manchester United next summer with the futures of Paul Pogba, Donny van de Beek and Nemanja Matic up in the air. Declan Rice is someone who has been constantly linked with the club.
Dean Henderson could be another potential exit next summer, with the English goalkeeper struggling for playing time as David de Gea looks to be back at his best. Thus, the Red Devils might need to search for another goalkeeper.
There are uncertainties over the futures of Phil Jones and Eric Bailly at Old Trafford as well, which could lead to the club making another defensive signing.
And with players like Edinson Cavani, Jesse Lingard and Juan Mata expected to leave, and Anthony Martial already out on loan at Sevilla, one cannot rule out the possibility of Manchester United making another attacking addition.
