Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain have played some memorable European games in recent times and one player who has shone very often in these encounters is Marcus Rashford. The Englishman has looked at his best when up against the French club on multiple occasions. Now though, he has surprisingly been linked with a possible move to the Ligue 1 giants, who could be set to lose Kylian Mbappe in the near future.
Mbappe’s current deal with Paris Saint-Germain is set to run out next summer and he has been heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid.
On the other hand, while Rashford has been a big part of Manchester United’s first-team for a long time and has almost 300 senior appearances for the club to his name at 24 years of age, one has to admit that he has not looked at the top of his game for a while now.
And as tweeted out by journalist Fabrice Hawkins, Rashford was in contact with Paris Saint-Germain last summer, in the event of the departure of Mbappe. The links between the two parties still exist.
Could Rashford end up leaving Manchester United?
Rashford came through the youth ranks at Manchester United and has been able to establish himself in their senior team.
But with tough competition for places up top at Old Trafford this season, he is no longer the automatic starter for the club that he had been in the past. Thus, it will be interesting to see how the season turns out for him. Till now, it has been underwhelming.
Rashford’s current deal with Manchester United is believed to run till the summer of 2023 although there is an option for another year.
If Rashford was to leave Manchester United, there is not expected to be any lack of suitors for his signature though. Other than Paris Saint-Germain, he has also been linked with clubs like Barcelona and Real Madrid in the past as well.
