Considering the amount of rumours that have surrounded Manchester United in recent times, there was surprisingly very little going on at Old Trafford in the first few weeks of the January transfer window. Things certainly appear to have picked up pace now, with Anthony Martial and Amad completing loan moves to Sevilla and the Rangers respectively over the last few days. And there could potentially be more to come.

One player who was initially expected to leave this month on loan is Anthony Elanga. After a bright pre-season, the youngster had not featured much for the Red Devils and looked set to move away on a temporary basis to get regular playing time.

That has changed in recent weeks though as he has featured quite a bit in Ralf Rangnick’s team over the past few games and now, it looks very unlikely that Elanga will leave on loan this month. Instead, it could be others who do.

As reported by ESPN, Rangnick is open to as many as four first-team players leaving Manchester United in January because of the emergence of Elanga.

Martial and Amad have already departed the club on loan this month. And Rangnick is believed to be relaxed about the prospect of also losing Jesse Lingard and Donny van de Beek.

Now, to be very honest, none of these players have been regular features in the Manchester United first-team this season.

As a result, a move away from Old Trafford on loan might be the best step for the club as well as them at this point of time.

With only a few days remaining in the January transfer window, it remains to be seen if more players do end up leaving Manchester United. Do not be surprised if it does happen though.
