There are still a few days left before the the January transfer window slams shut and there might yet be some movement around Manchester United as the Red Devils could potentially end up sending some more of their players out. There have already been a few temporary exits out of Old Trafford this month, with the most high profile of them being that of Anthony Martial, who has joined Sevilla, who are making a La Liga title challenge this season.

But there might be more exits to come in the upcoming days as rumours continue to swirl around the futures of players like Donny van de Beek and Jesse Lingard.

Having spent a brilliant half-a-season loan spell at West Ham United in the second half of the previous campaign, Lingard returned to Manchester United in the summer and was expected to play a bigger role this time around.

However, that has not happened and heavy competition for places has meant that the English international has barely featured for Manchester United. According to stats from Transfermarkt, Lingard has played just 273 minutes of football across all competitions so far this season.

Could Lingard be on his way out of Manchester United this January?

The Manchester United star has continuously been linked with clubs from around Europe over the past few months. But as reported by L’Equipe (via Get French Football News), Lingard will not sign for Nice as the price of the transfer has proven to be an obstacle for the Ligue 1 side.

Lingard has caught the eyes of a lot of clubs in recent times, especially because of the fact that his current deal runs out in the summer. Till now though, a transfer exit has not transpired.

It is most likely that he will walk out of Old Trafford as a free agent at the end of the season if a transfer does not take place this month. Premier League clubs such as Newcastle United, West Ham United and Tottenham Hotspur have all been linked with him as well as clubs from abroad.
